XAN BAKES

Remember the last post when I said I was going to try and post more often.  Well, this is the beginning of that venture.

Yesterday X and I made a chocolate trifle.

For those of you that don't know, I used to bake a lot.  I used to do it all the time before I got with X's dad.  It was sort of an escape for me.  If I had a lot on my mind I would bake away the stress.  Then X's dad came along and, well, the baking slowed to a crawl.  I really don't consider this baking since all that's  being baked is the cake portion, it is however, the closest thing to baking I've done in a while, although I did have a chocolate chip cookie run before X was born.  I'm still trying to perfect that recipe.    I really miss baking.  Once X gets older I'm going to start doing it a lot more again so that we can bake together.  OMG...I totally over used the words "bake" and "baking" in that paragraph.

So, a trifle was made, and during the process of making and baking the cake, and making and chilling the pudding, then whipping the cream, X fell asleep.  By the time he woke up from his nap the trifle was complete and, because I just had to get a picture of him next to the trifle, well...I guess he couldn't contain the curiosity and bam!  Little fat fingers all up in the whipped cream.  I guess that's what I get for putting a curiously hungry baby right next to food.

All in all the trifle was yummy and baking with X was fun.  Sorry...no recipe.  Way too lazy to write that out. 

As for today X and I went for a little stroll, taking advantage of the cool overcast mornings we've been having lately.  I love going for walks with this little guy.  He gets so excited and then falls asleep.  Not much else happened today.  Well, nothing exciting anyway.  

Well as you guessed it, it's super late at night an I am super tired.  I can barely keep my eyes open, and my writing capabilities are seriously lacking because of it so this is where I say G'nightt!
